The Ergonomic Cutting Knife, Born and Crafted in Boston

We’re Cam and Silvi.

Before we ever started a business together, met during our graduate studies at the Boston Architectural College. Our mutual passion for tinkering and technologies had given us the same idea - to use our design skills to make a change in the world. Today you can see that although we’re business owners, we’re still up to our old antics. You can find us on a Friday afternoon sitting in Dorchester Brewing, debating one thing or another, otherwise known as “solving the world’s mysteries.” And of course, we’re always cooking up with crazy new design ideas. You can always check out a few examples of these adventures in our Test Kitchen.

Cameron CHateauneuf

Favorite Accomplishment:
Lead Designer - Studio Echelman

Prior to starting ErgoKiwi, Cameron was Lead Designer for artist Janet Echelman. During his tenure, he developed software that enabled the studio to design net sculptures at the scale of the city and employed innovative technologies to the world of public art.

His contributions have been seen across the world and even helped the studio receive the Smithsonian Institute Innovation of the Year Award in 2014.

What I learned:

“These projects were always high budget and highly experimental. Not only were we pushing technological limits for the sake of public art but I also managed budgets, project management and fabrication. Oh yeah, and when you install a 2-ton sculpture in the heart of a city across the world, you need make sure that nothing will go wrong. It taught me a lot about how to run a business efficiently... You always need to be ready for anything.”

The Perfect day:

Sitting in my garage with my dog Gator, distilling whiskey and watching the Boston Bruins.

Silvi Petani

Favorite Accomplishment:
Master of the Known World

Since 2017 Silvi has effectively taken control of the known world. While you may not know him by name, you likely know of him. Depending on what’s going on that day, you’ll find him working under his pseudonyms, Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Vladmir Putin, and most recently, Q Anon and Corona Virus.

What I learned:

You’d be surprised how easy it is to take over the world. All I really do all day is post to Facebook and Instagram and I’m not really even that busy most days. Despite what you might expect, I’ve never even left the state of Massachusetts before. The funny part is that I don’t even really want to be doing this.

The Perfect Day:

Utilizing my nuclear defense resources to harvest 1.3 million tons of calamari. To prevent it all from going to waste, I’d tether it all to the International space station and have the Chinese government dropship orders when it’s time to grill.
